The Hot Mahi Mahi Bite Continues In Fort Lauderdale

On our shared sportfishing trip this morning we found a hard edge where the blue water met the green water. The mahi were red hot on the backs of flying fish and big schools of ballyhoo. It wasn't long before we got our bites and had 3 fish in the boat. We decided to look for big grouper and amberjacks on the wreck and got lucky on our drop with a big amberjack. Our anglers did great!

Captain David Directs A Triple Header Sailfish

The winds picked up so we loaded the boat with our kite fishing gear and Goggle Eyes for bait. We came up on an edge with some nice bluewater and saw some sailfish tailing down sea. It wasn't long before we got our baits in front of them and the action was on. I hope you enjoy this video.

Captain Jimmy & Anglers On Wide Open Kingfish Bite

The Lois Ann set sail 3 times today and each trip was better than the previous one. Although the seas were a bit choppy, there was plenty of current funneling the fish right to us. We caught kingfish all day along with bonitos and some cero mackerels. Using sea witches with mullet strips has been the best bait.

Mahi, Wahoo & Tuna, Oh My!

The fishing today was awesome once again. We found mahi on the backs of the large ballyhoo schools. There has been no shortage of frigate birds giving away their location. Find the birds and you will find the fish. Don't be afraid to get out of the green water even if it stretches out to 500 feet. Tight Lines, Captain David

Fishing 2 Kites For Sailfish Off Fort Lauderdale

Using kites when fishing for sailfish is the most effective way to catch them. By suspending baits on top of the water using the kite, you conceal the leader and hook from the fish increasing your chances big time. In this video our mate and captain, Sean puts out 2 kites with a mixture of Goggle Eyes and Threadfin Herring. As our anglers get hooked up you will notice he is able to keep the other baits in the water while trying to go for doubles, triples and even quads. On this day, we also had some kingfish, bonita and tuna come up in the spread. Since we don't use wire leader for sailfish, occasionally we will look toothy fish that bite through the leader. Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report

The fishing has been quite good. The story remains with a hot kingfish bite and the recent cold fronts bringing sailfish and more mahi. This has to be the best mahi fishing in over 5 years. If you find birds or debris, they are all holding mahi like they should. The drift boat has seen some awesome kingfish bite as well using planers and sea witches. Now is the time to book your kite fishing trips for sailfish as we have dates open in November and December. Tight Lines, Captain David

How To Catch Black Grouper & Amberjacks On Deep Water Wrecks

Wreck fishing is a very productive method to target fish that hang on the deep water wrecks, however having the right rig is vital to catching these giants. We have had a good run this season on black grouper and this is the rig we have been having great success with. Using live blue runners on this rig has yielded in perfect corner of the mouth hooks sets using 9/0 circle hooks. Please feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them in the comment below and please don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more tackle tips if you enjoy the video. How To Rig Live Bonita For Trolling For Wahoo

We get a lot of questions about our wahoo rigs here in the winter. We have huge success catching wahoo over the rest of the fleet because we can take the time to catch "bullets" which are small bonita (tuna) and have the ability to keep them alive. This makes a huge difference when big game fishing for wahoo. I recommend you book a 6 or 8 hour trip in the winter if you want to experience to give us more time to get the bait over fish and cover ground. Here I show you my secret sauce and the perfect rig as to not miss the fish. Most people will only fish one hook in the nose or eye sockets and if there is a short strike, the wahoo will cut the fish in half and completely miss the hooks. In this rig we use 3 hooks along with #6 wire. Please feel free to ask any questions below and I will answer them in between trips. Tight Lines, Captain David

#1 Trolling Bait Lure For Fishing In South Florida

After years and thousands of hours of trolling and testing at sea, we have narrowed down our dead bait of choice to the bonita strip and sea witch rigged with a 7/0 and piece of monel wire. We choose this bait for many reasons, but the main reasons are: - Great Action and Flutter that provokes reaction strikes - If the fish misses the bait or slices it, the bait usually stays in tact for a second strike, unlike a ballyhoo. - Bonita strips store well - It takes only seconds to rig up the bait - The scent is strong for picky fish. - Mahi, sailfish, king mackerel, tuna, white marlin, wahoo and more all strike this baits. - They troll great on the surface or on a planer or downrigger. - You can troll them fast and they don't fall apart. If you have any questions on how we rig up these baits, please feel free to comment below or book a trip with us a full demo while at sea. Tight Lines, Captain David https://www.ladypamela2.com

He Traveled Around The World To Catch A Sailfish

We had an amazing week of fishing with some great clients. One of our clients really stood out when he told me he has been all over the world and has never caught a sailfish. I quickly changed the game plan and even though we didn't have enough wind to kite fish, there has been several sailfish around on the ballyhoo schools. You always want to match the hatch and by trolling live ballyhoo we managed to get a beautiful sailfish to the boat for his first catch and release.

For charters visit: https://www.ladypamela2.com We fished the "Dust Em' Off Sailfish Tournament" this weekend with the girls. The wind was howling about 25 knots with seas up to 7 feet consistently throughout the day. Fishing Report For December 2017

Fishing Report with Captain David

Daytime Swordfish Caught with Underwater Footage

On the first drop in 1600 feet of water, we hooked this beautiful swordfish during the day. The swordfish ate a fresh squid. The current was ripping, but we managed to get a bait down to where the fish were and was instantly rewarded with this bite. Our angler for the day was happy with just the one fish, so we headed back early and fished for mahi on the way home. The fish was filleted and provided to our customer in his cooler for fresh steaks on the grill.

How To Rig Baits To Catch Sharks

Please like and subscribe if you like this video In this episode of rigging with Captain David, you will learn how we rig our baits to catch sharks such as hammerheads, makos, threshers, bulls and more. This is big game fishing, so you are going to have to bring out the heavy tackle. Fishing heavy tackle, allows us to release them faster as well. We promote catch and release on all our sharks. In fact, we try to tag all our fish if we can get them under control and send them back healthy with our tags so that marine biologist may study things such as migrations, size, feeding, etc. Protecting sharks also helps to conserve our oceans. Please show love to your sharks when applying these techniques to fish them. They are amazing fish and should be honored just as a sailfish and such would be. Hope you enjoy the video.

Fort Lauderdale Charter Catches Monster Yellowfin Tuna!

Unreal. We were kite fishing off Fort Lauderdale just as we always do when we hooked a tuna! The fish weighed in about 274 pounds. Our anglers did an amazing job fighting it and getting it the boat. Back at the dock none of the fish went to waste as we prepared it sushi style for our anglers as well as crew. Hope you enjoy.
Sorry for the blurry video as this came from a customers phone via text message and really distorted it. But better than nothing right?
